Brienen Bryant (Class of 2000) left us on December 23rd. Brie’s life will be celebrated on January 9th at 5pm at Harlem Stage at The Gate House, on the corner of 135th Street and Convent Avenue. Ted Hoffmann, founder of the Theatre Program, passed away on July 9th, at the age of 87. J. Michael Miller, Ted’s student, colleague and friend, writes movingly about Ted here.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David Marks (‘87), who reigned as one of Washington, DC’s leading high comic actors. A memorial will be at Washington, DC’s Folger Theater on June 22nd.

The deadline to apply for a Fox Fellowship is rapidly approaching! Many of our alumni have benefited from this marvelous fellowship, where recipients may receive up to $25k to further develop their craft. Application and online registration deadline is June 15, 2009.  Further details may be found here.

We have created a new Events calendar on the GAAA web site that program leaders can easily contribute to, and that may be viewed by all visitors to the website. This will increase awareness of all our events, and decrease the chance of overlapping events.
