Overview
With the Grad Acting Alumni Website, we hope to build upon the sense of community the Grad Acting Program provided; to create a place where actors feel a sense of shared purpose, understanding, and support. A place where we can share our collective and varied wealth of experience with one another in an atmosphere of common experience and trust. We would like to create a permanent meeting place for all of us who have graduated from the program, regardless of when you graduated, no matter where you live, and in celebration of what you are doing.
If you graduated either from the Graduate Acting Program at NYU (the mid-1980s to the present) or finished with a B.F.A. or M.F.A. in Acting or Directing from the Theater Program of the School of the Arts at NYU (from 1968-the mid-1980s), the Graduate Acting Alumni Association welcomes you as family and invites you to register as a member. There are absolutely no dues or fees involved. This website was designed as a resource for you.
We encourage you to browse the site, become a member, and ask questions. Read about what programs and initiatives are available to you as an alumnus of the program. See what you can do to help either the Alumni Association or the Grad Acting Program. Browse the class rosters and find your friends or see who else trained at your alma mater before or after you were there. Perhaps most importantly, go to the Forums and let your voice be heard. Ask a question, any question at all. Answer one. Post a remembrance. Share an experience. The website will be the community we make it.
We look forward to seeing you on the site. Welcome home.
Using the Site
There are two ways to browse the GAAA Site: as a registered, logged-in member or as a logged-out, non-member. Members have access to everything non-members do, in addition to a private, secure community comprised of fellow alumni.
All users will be able to read about current News and Events impacting NYU Grad Acting Alumni, as well as the various Programs & Initiatives available to alums. Visitors can peruse a Class Roster that lists all alumni of Grad Acting from 1968 to the present by class, or search for a specific alumnus by name. Should an alumnus wish it, his or her professional contact information will be displayed.
Logged-in members will have access to a community comprised of Graduate Acting Alumni. By filling out an online profile, members will have the option of sharing and receiving contact information of their own choosing; receiving private messages from other members within the privacy and security of the site; the ability to leave comments on any page where such a function is possible; and most importantly, having access to the Forums, where community members may post on any topic they wish.
Becoming a Member
To be a member, you must be an alumnus of the Graduate Acting Program.
There are two ways to join. Click here and enter your email address. If the address matches the email we have for you in our database, then you will automatically receive an email with a link that will confirm your membership once you click on it.
If the address you provide does not match the one in our database, you will be prompted to enter your name, class year, and a phone number where we can reach you to verify your identity. Yes, it is an extensive process, but we need to ensure that only Grad Acting Alumni have access to the protected areas of the website. Once we are able to securely verify your identity, a membership invite will follow.
Disclaimer
The Graduate Acting Alumni Association is a completely alumni-run initiative. We enjoy a cooperative and mutually beneficial relationship with the Tisch School of the Arts. Our goals revolve around serving our own, select community: alumni serving other alumni.
